Turning Canadian companies around is good for the economy and it's good for raising the bar on management quality. Despite the aura that he's a tough guy, all the tell tale signs are there that he's a decent and good manager: he remembers the city that served him well, he is modest in his office trappings, he actually sounds modest, and I just know that he is more decent compared to other private equity players that will remain nameless.
